School Reintegration Programs for Teen Mothers
Despite a government policy allowing re-entry for teen mothers, only 2% of adolescent mothers return to school after childbirth. Barriers include stigma, lack of childcare, and unsupportive school policies. AHRTA’s “Reclaim School” program provides teen mothers with school re-enrollment support, uniforms, baby kits, and mentorship. We advocate with education officials to implement friendly policies and ensure that no girl is denied her right to education due to pregnancy.
Life Skills Education and Peer Mentorship
Adolescents need more than academic knowledge to thrive. AHRTA runs life skills programs that cover topics such as communication, digital literacy, financial planning, and career readiness. Our peer mentors—trained adolescents aged 15–19—deliver relatable, interactive sessions both in and out of school. These mentorships offer vulnerable youth role models and safe spaces to explore their identities and aspirations.
Campaigns to End Stigma Around Menstruation, Pregnancy, and Mental Health
Social stigma is a powerful silencer. Whether it’s menstruation, teen pregnancy, or depression, shame can isolate adolescents and prevent them from seeking help. AHRTA uses multimedia campaigns, art therapy, community theatre, and storytelling platforms to challenge these stigmas. Our school-based clubs also empower adolescents to design and lead anti-stigma activities.
Digital Education and Safe Access to Information
In the digital age, access to reliable and safe information can transform adolescent lives. AHRTA partners with tech developers to create mobile-friendly platforms that provide content on SRHR, mental health, and gender-based violence. We train adolescents in digital literacy and cyber safety, ensuring they navigate online spaces confidently and critically.
